lots of good tunes there although it'd be nice to see a LOT more local content. btw Golden Age sort of count but I think these days they have a (Syd) next to their name.

Hope the new gigs treating you well. Nice blog too.

Hooray - a non blogspam comment (yes, I'm a sad sad little man :)

Glad you like the tunes, I know I don't play a lot of local stuff, I'm still discovering what I like in the Canberra scene (I've liked what I've heard of Baterz/Bedridden, Randall Blair, Fred Smith, Boy from the Woods and ELF, and Moh Van Wah sound kinda interesting ).

At the same time, I'd rather play music because (I think) it's good or interesting than because of where it's from (and I have to confess I probably have a slightly more Melbourne ear as well) - I get the support the local scene thing totally and I think that 2XX as a whole is great on that level (In the Can particularly - 6-7 Saturdays).

Let me see what I can do.

Howdy Colin, was that you playing the covers of Crowded House and Split Enz songs by female artists last night ?

If it was, well done, if it wasn't, well somebody was in the zone.

Unfortunately my listening pleasure was limited by the ride from the parliamentary triangle to woden, a whole 10 minutes, but it was good to listen to some crazy ass covers as I was screaming down Adelaide Ave.

Yeah, that was me Maelinar, glad you enjoyed them. They're from a fairly recent compilation called "She will have her way". Some pretty good stuff on there though I'd stay well clear of Renee Geyer's version of Into Temptation - sigh, I'm not sure what she was thinking but she's well and truly buggered one of my fave Crowdys songs ever. (Lucky there's still the Jimmy Little version)
